The DVIM-HDMIF-ADPT is an HDMI female to a dual-link DVI male connector. This is a bidirectional adapter and will work from DVI sources to HDMI displays or from HDMI sources to DVI displays. It is often used with an HDMI cable to carry signal from a computer’s video card to an external monitor or display. Although there are many other possible uses, this adapter is compatible with DVI-D signals only. Switching from analog signals to HDMI always requires a converter. DVI is also a video-only format. Although HDMI can carry audio, this adapter will not.
